It is only in the telling that events become history.
Hannah Arendt

Introduction
My work is situated at the intersection of research, historical contextualization and design.
I am interested in processes that take time, and in subjects that cannot be reduced to quick conclusions.
The following focus areas describe what I am currently engaged with.
Family histories and family chronicles
I work with genealogical material that has been collected over many years or even decades:
family trees, documents, photographs, notes and memories.
My focus lies in organizing this material, placing it in its historical context, and developing from it a coherent and readable family history.
Not as a complete collection of data, but as a narratable chronicle.
Genealogical research and historical contextualization
Another focus of my work is research into individual people, families or places.
In this work, I combine genealogical sources with historical context as well as local and regional perspectives.
I am particularly interested in how individual life paths
are shaped by historical circumstances
and how these relationships can be presented in a clear and comprehensible way.

Form und Gestaltung der Ergebnisse
Research, text and design belong together in my work.
The results of my work are not only developed in terms of content,
but are also shaped into an appropriate and readable form.
Structure, typography and layout support understanding
and make extensive material accessible.
Whether a family chronicle, a narrative text or a documentary compilation, the final form is part of the working process.
The aim is a result that is not only sound in content, but also inviting to read and to pass on.
Purpose and value of my work
My work goes beyond the mere collection of names and dates.
Meaning only emerges through contextualization within family, geographical and historical frameworks.
The result is not a simple family tree, but a coherent whole that can be understood and told.
Life paths become comprehensible, developments and ruptures can be explained, and family history becomes readable – even for those without prior genealogical knowledge.
This form of interpretation is particularly valuable for families and descendants, for anniversaries, estates and biographical reflections,
and for the conscious passing on of family history to future generations.
